NAME

makeinfo - convert .texinfo files into .info files

SYNOPSIS

makeinfo [ +no-validate ] [ +no-warn ] [ +no-split ] [ +verbose ] [ +version ] [ +paragraph-indent # ] [ +fill-column # ] [ +error-limit # ] [ +reference-limit # ] [ +footnote-style STYLE ] texinfo-file ...

DESCRIPTION

Makeinfo reads in sequence files with TeXinfo formatting commands and produces corresponding files in .info (GNUemacs) format.

OPTIONS

Command line options are described below. Some options have a short form when noted.
+no-validate
option supresses node cross reference validation.
+no-validate
turns off node cross reference validation.
+no-warn
to suppress warning messages (errors are still output).
+no-split
prevents splitting of large files.
+verbose
print information about included files.
+version
prints the version number of makeinfo. Short +V
+paragraph-indent
sets the paragraph indent to 'num' (default is 3). Use negative values to kill all paragraph indentation. Short +p num.
+fill-column
sets the filling column to 'num' (default 72). Short +f num.
+error-limit
sets the error limit to 'num' (default 100). Short +e num.
+reference-limit
set the reference warning limit to 'num' (default is 1000). Short +r num.
+footnote-style
to set the footnote style to 'style'. 'Style' should either be MN for 'make node', or BN for 'bottom node'. Short +s style.

BUGS

The program needs both memory and a disk space. If you are splitting large files an amount of disk space needed will be around 3 time an original file size.

Setting paragraph indent to 0 does not work too well. Use negative values to kill paragraph indentation completely.

Short forms for options should be preceded by '-' instead of '+'
